Meet M & J
Founded in 2018 by Mike and Joeli Clark, both owners have extensive experience completing individual and small business income taxes and managing tax offices. Mike has attained his Enrolled Agent designation, which means he is admitted to practice and represent clients before all levels of the IRS.
Mike and Joeli grew tired of the one-size-fits-all approach that the "big box" franchises employ, so they started their own company based on the belief that each situation is unique and deserves individualized personal service.

Our Staff
Brad Jones
Brad has been practicing as a CPA since 1975. He has been in the desert since 1977. He moved from Detroit to Los Angeles after graduating from Michigan State University in 1975. His area of practice has been tax planning and preparation for small businesses and individuals. He has a wife Kathryn and son Nathan. He enjoys concerts both classical and rock and roll. He prides himself in attempting to provide great customer service and has a number of clients who have been with him for several years.
Roya Shahidi
Roya has over 16 years of experience as a Tax Professional. She enjoys helping clients minimize their tax liability and is an expert in preparing personal and small business returns. She enjoys helping her clients no matter how complicated their returns may be. Her free time is spent traveling with family and friends and listening to music.
Angelica Fernandez
Angelica has over 13 years experience as a tax professional. She loves working with people and helping them however she can. Angelica spends her free time with her family, friends and her grandchildren.
Roane Charland
Roane, a prior business owner himself, knows how important it is to your bottom line to keep an accurate set of books. Roane is a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who will handle your bookkeeping and payroll functions so that you can concentrate on what you do best - running your business.
Daniel Alejo
Daniel recently relocated from Northern California Bay area where he attended San Jose State University. He has over 30 years of accounting experience working in the construction, rental, retail and commercial property industries. Daniel is a natural with numbers and very detail oriented. Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and son watching sports. He is fluent in Spanish.
Renée Southard
Renée has over 25 years of accounting experience serving CPA firms throughout the Coachella Valley. She is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor specializing in detailed bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records. Renée also has extensive knowledge in corporate and partnership bookkeeping with skills to update your records for your tax preparer. In her free time, Renée enjoys spending time with her family relaxing in the pool, going to concerts and traveling.
Laken Lynch
Since 2018 Laken has been the head of Client Services where she is responsible for maintaining client records, forwarding client requests to appropriate personnel, and answering client inquiries. Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, she is dedicated to continuing in the family tax business following her Grandpa, Mother and Stepfather. Outside of the office, Laken enjoys spending time with her family, friends and Golden Retriever "fur baby."
Westin Lynch
Westin Lynch has enjoyed learning all there is to know about preparing taxes. Whether it is a personal, business, or S-corporation return, he is determined to help you find the best possible result. Westin’s commitment and fearless effort are key components in making him a perfect match here at M & J. He has a real passion for sports, especially for his favorites. In his free time, he enjoys watching the Miami Dolphins and supporting his favorite player, Steph Curry.
Boon Elliott
Boon is new to the business and is dedicated to learning all there is to know about bookkeeping and accounting. He possesses a strong work ethic and a receptive, positive, can-do attitude and is eager to contribute to the team’s success. In his free time, he loves watching sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds.
